Complete college football rankings are trickling out and the consensus is that Texas is No. 1. UTEP is as high as 114th.

For the first time in history, Texas football is ranked No. 1 in one of the major preseason polls. The Longhorns sit atop the Preseason Coaches Poll, edging out reigning national champion Ohio State for the No. 1 spot.

Either Ohio State or Texas will be ranked as the No. 1 team in the country, with the other slotting behind at No. 2. Renowned college football insider Phil Steele believes that Ohio State will be No. 1 and Texas will be No. 2, while ESPN’s Bill Connelly believes the opposite will be true.
