The largest of several wildfires in northwestern Colorado grew to over 100,000 acres overnight, prompting new evacuations.

The Colorado Department of Corrections said it has begun evacuating 179 individuals in custody from Rifle Correctional Center in response to the rapidly evolving Lee Fire in Rio Blanco County.

Large wildfires are also burning in California and Arizona, with the Gifford fire having burned over 114,600 acres and the Dragon Bravo fire in the Grand Canyon scorching around 143,500 acres.
