HTML files are opened by default by Web browsers but contain plain text. If you work with HTML files in your small business, it might be easier to edit them if you first save them as text files.

The saved page is stored in your Downloads folder as a single HTML file. To confirm, tap the HTML file. The left is the page saved as an HTML file, and the right is the original page viewed in Safari.

Firefox adds two other file-save options: "Text files" and "All files." "Web Page, complete" saves the HTML file and a folder containing other elements on the page, such as images and scripts.

When you save the MS Word document as a webpage, then it in saved with the extension .htm and the format is HTML. When you click on this HTML file, it will open with your default browser.
