Jason Alexander pitched six scoreless innings, Jeremy Peña doubled twice and the Houston Astros used a five-run fourth to beat the Miami Marlins 8-2 on Monday night.

The Marlins acquired Sanchez, 27, and pitcher Ryan Stanek from Tampa in 2019 in exchange for Nick Anderson and Trevor Richards. Sanchez, who is earning $4.5 million this season, made his big-league debut in August 2020 and hit .243 (.310 on base) with 69 homers and 226 RBI in 532 games over parts of six seasons.

MIAMI - In the fourth inning of the fourth game arrived the first glimpse of potency the Houston Astros acted to create. A series at Fenway Park held few signs of it from a lineup fortified at the trade deadline.
